Not me, but I've known probably a dozen people who've had cataract surgery and every one of them has said the surgery was no big deal, and has been delighted with the results. Good luck!
My dad had one eye done three weeks ago, he's having the other done next week. His first surgery was less than 2 hours, they took him in at 7:00 am, I was bringing him home by 9:00. I'm amazed at how quickly he recovered, he was able to drive the very next day.
It's made a big difference for him, he said colors looked brighter.
They've made such advances in cataract surgery. 20 years or so ago, a girlfriend of mine developed them after taking prednisone. She missed a month of work, and had to either wear extreme coke-bottle glasses, or removable contact. Later she was able to get the lens implants.
My mother had it done a few years ago. Everything went fine.
Back in the mid-90s my boss had it done. He needed glasses before the surgery but afterwards he had 20-20 vision.
I have cataracts in one eye, but I'm blind in that eye anyways (for other reasons) so it's not worth the surgery to correct it.
But I understand that cataract surgery is pretty routine.
I'm turning 49. I had my first one done in 2003 and the second done in 2006. Premature cataracts run in my family (my dad and his mom). Thanks Dad!
The upside is my vision is better with the implanted lenses than it was before.
