Hey y'all,
I'm a newbie who currently rides my road bike with Shimano mtn. shoes (SPD system). I need to start looking for a good pair of inexpensive (under $100) road shoes. I'm sorry to say goodbye to my Shimmies b/c they are sooo comfy, but the rubber toe tends to catch my tire on tight turns. Yikes.
Any suggestions? What do you love about yours?

I'm afraid new shoes won't solve your problem, Jenny. Not unless you can find a way to make your shoes shorter. The problem sounds like toe clip overlap and is a property of your bike frame. Small frames with big wheels like 700's are the most prone to the problem. Shorter cranks might help.

I wouldn't be that upset to find that the solution. I love my shoes and don't really *want* road shoes....
