Madeline Albright has written a book about her collection of brooches and how she used them in her diplomatic career. Looks interesting.

They're currently on display in NYC through January 2010, then will go to Arkansas, Washington DC and Indiana.
I heard an interview with her about her pins...sounds wonderful. I hope to see the exhibit in DC.
I heard her talk about them on Letterman and the Daily Show.
She's a firecracker.
We're currently planning a book signing/cocktail party-type gig with her at the store that's mentioned in the book.
I saw a news report about the pins & me tinks her book would be worth the read!

When I was in Bosnia in the late 90s, Madame Albright was a big hit with the women I was working with, all of whom were highly-educated, "western." They thought she was really great, although they couldn't believe that she wore such short skirts. They blushed, and pointed to their knees. It's true, when she sits down, her knees are exposed. Whoop-de-do, I thought, but I didn't say it (how do you say "whoop-de-doo" in Bosnian, anyways?)
She's always been one of my favorites/heroines. If I recall correctly, she would wear certain pins to annoy Saddam Hussein.
If that book signing is open to the public, I might go! I would LOVE to meet her and get a signed copy of her book.
