:( Ok, so I caught a cold from one of the 30 or so kids on my bus that actually have colds right now. I was feeling kinda yucky yesterday but went on a ride anyway, a hilly 40 miler. I felt pretty good on that ride because I was able to kick the husband's butt-I trained hard while he was out of town and not riding.
Anyway-I have to feel better by Saturday because we're doing a century. It's going to rain for a few days, which might stop me from riding, but other than that I need to ride a little, but get better too. I wish there was a miracle food or supplement that works, because I can't really take any time off work either, not sick enough and we don't have enough subs!

Andrographis. Not a "miracle" as in "take one pill and your cold is gone," but it definitely makes the symptoms less severe and shortens the cold. Zinc lozenges/spray helps too, but only if you start as soon as the cold starts. Probably wouldn't help you at this point.

Hope you feel better. I had a cold last month and even though it wasn't a bad cold, having it was just awful.

It is probably too late now but at the first sign of a cold try Emer- Gen- C. It is a powder high in vitamen C that you mix with water. An acquaintance who is a flight attendant told me that they all swear by the stuff to keep them healthy when being in the air all day in tight spaces with coughing and sneezing people. I have tried it a few times at the first sign of a cold and it seemed to work
However,I have been sick this week too. It came on really suddenly with no warning. I went to bed feeling great, woke up feeling like my head was in a vise. My husband has been downing the Emer-gen-C twice a day and so far so good.
