Day 3&4 with observations (long)

Hey everybody!

I've been posting about my first few rides. I went again yesterday (for Day 3) and I did 20 minutes and about 3 miles. I was pretty excited. I didn't break the 20 minute barrier, but I broke the 2 mile barrier! I went in the morning on Saturday and I found that I was really exhausted, and couldn't go very far. Does anyone else notice that the time of day affects their condition to ride?

Then today (makes Day 4), I went and decided to venture out of the neighborhood for the first time. I spent about 5 minutes total out on a main road. It was a quiet one, and all of the cars gave me plenty of room. I even got passed by someone with a bike rack, and I felt some comradery! While, again, I managed only 20 minutes on the bike, I put an extra mile in! So, that's really great!

My sit bones aren't hurting as much as they were last week. In fact, my focus had shifted from my sore arse to my burning leg muscles! Which is a big step!

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the helpful advice. I'm really on my way, and I'm so excited.

Congratulations! Just keep at it. Some days are good, some days are not as good...even on my bad days, when I think about it, I find something positive for my next ride. This year, I have only taken small rides, no big 'epics' for me and I am enjoying it. So, I hope with each mile, you find the joy that riding brings...

What kind of bike are you riding? Just wondering. I must be riding much slower lol. I've been riding for around an hour and going 5 or 6 miles, but I am on a beater mountain bike, and today I was towing my toddler. :) It does feel good to ride though.

Hey! I'm on a Trek FX 7.3 road bike. I tell you what, when I push the pedal down the bike goes!

I haven't done the 10 miles yet. It will be at 5pm CDT this evening!
