Same shorts, different chamois???
OK, a few weeks ago I posted about my good experience with my new Shebeest S Pro shorts. I did mention that when I bought the second pair, it seemed to fit slightly differently; the waist a bit higher and the legs a bit shorter.
The reason I got the first pair is that I had to throw out my other 2 pairs of Shebeest shorts. The ultra D's kept giving me a saddle sore in the exact same place and the seams just hurt. The SSS shorts had a chamois that just ht me wrong and I was always sore after I wore them. So, that left me with 3 pairs of Terry bellas, which I love, but I like to have 5 pairs of shorts, so I am not forced to do laundry more than twice a week. I bought the second pair of S Pros about 2 weeks after I bought the first, here on TE.
Sooooo, this morning I woke up and I had a saddle sore (not quite as bad as the last time) in the exact same place. I accidently hit it in the shower and ouch! I didn't ride yesterday, but Wednesday I did a 40 mile ride, in hot weather. I got out of my shorts right away, but I was out riding for awhile, with a 30 minute stop near the end of the ride.
I did my laundry earlier and when I hung both of the S Pro shorts on the rack to dry, lo and behold, one has a chamois that looks just like my Terry's. The other has the "She-lastic" chamois, with lots of lines, seams, and ridges, similar to the Ultra Ds. The padding is not as thick, though. I must have worn this pair Wednesday.
How can the same model have different chamois? I could see if I bought one pair last year, but I bought both this spring. I don't even think they made these last year, so no "old" models could sneak in.
Any ideas?
