I feel like I just discovered a whole new world that everyone but me knew about. No chafing, bunched sweaty undies. Padding. What a concept.:eek: I let the thought of myself in spandex keep me away from this amazing discovery for far too long. I have a pair of Shebeest triple s shorts that are my new best friend!

I'm new to cycling, only been doing it a month. I finally broke down and got these and find them really uncomfortable. The padding seems to be in the wrong places. It's pushed way to far forward basically and it puts extra pressure on my genitalia which makes it burn. I need some recommendations for good shorts in brands that make 2xl. There is a very limited selection it seems. Soon enough I'll be down into regular sizes but I need the shorts for longer distances. Any help would be appreciated.
Jen, the shorts might be too big, or maybe just the wrong style for you. They should fit so snugly that the padding can't move around or bunch up, and if the waistline or leg opening is then too tight you should try other brands. Your saddle may also be the problem, the padding shouldn't be bunching up in front anyway but there shouldn't be much pressure in front if you have a saddle that fits anyway. Good luck, finding good shorts can take a little time.
My best cycling buddy swears by Pearl Izumi shorts. They are cut wrong for me. I think cycling shorts are a bit like shoes, different brands/styles/cuts for different folk. I tried on half the store before I found the pair that fit me like a second skin. I'll bet your pair is out there, you just haven't found them yet. Checking reviews from people my basic size and shape was somewhat helpful. Hopefully you can get to a place where you can try lots of them on.

It's true. I tried on several Pearl I. shorts too once in a store and they fit me really badly! Most Shebeest clothes fit me very nicely. So you and i must have body similarities.Quote:
