I am really missing my pet's! And reading all the stories here has made me even more homesick! But I love the photo's.. Does anyone have new one's they can post with maybe a fun story about something there pet did. Good or bad? Just a thought. I have another 19 days away from home. Get 5 days home and then have to leave again but only for 6 days then i get a bit of time home. A couple weeks at least.
Brandi, I wouldn't know where to start. I have an almost-four-month old golden retriever puppy and two older goldens. The baby, Margot, is into everything, and tries to counter surf (thank God she just now reaches the edge of the counter top but can't get her mouth that high---yet). Nothing is sacred and she is fast. In other words, when she isn't crated, shame on you if you leave something verboten in her reach. When she gets ahold of some contraband, she takes off like a streak and starts grunting in ecstasy, tail wagging and human in futile pursuit. The good news is that she's almost too big to fit under the couch!!
My house is now coated in bitter apple and there are scat mats all over. I think I've been zapped more than she has because I forget the mat is there..... :( LOL, actually it's pretty humorous, after the sting fades. My husband and I keep reminding ourselves that this stage is temporary. I think that she is going to end up being the best behaved of all three. She's a good listener and is now obeying "no," "get down," and "leave it." Fiona, our 22 month old, has a very sassy personality and her "show dog" bloodline makes her a bit of a canine snob. While she will listen, there are times when her hearing is decidedly selective.
Today the weather was cool enough that I was able to open up the house and let some fresh air through..... which meant the dog and kitties could go out. So Calypso tolerated the presence of Patches (the stray black cat that has adopted us) and went out for some air.
Eventually the a/c kicked on and I closed up the house, thus had to chase kitties back inside. Calypso pranced - the only way to describe it - to the door with a new "toy" she found... a six inch green lizard (don't ask me what kind). She likes to bring her interactive toys inside to play with until they either quit working, or I figure out there's one more life form than allowed in the house and either set it free or kill it (roaches get killed). Getting the lizard away from her, was rather fun, but it ran off, hopefully to recover and eat more bugs.
She punished me by pooping BY the litter box and not IN the litter box.
This is our yellow lab - Biscuit. While at the beach with our family, the college-age boys discovered how effective a dog is in attracting girls. Our boys both had girlfriends who were vacationing with us so her services weren't needed. Their friends, however, kept borrowing Biscuit for long walks on the beach. She was soon acting like she owned the place and had made friends with most of our neighbors within a half-mile. :)
lolololololol! That is soooo funny! My cat WIllow brought in a garter snake once. Poor thing scrared the heck out of us till we relaized what kind it was and saved it from being played to death with!Quote:

While I am on the subject of poop--my little Manx "tri-pods" on the edges of the litter box to poop. Then she JUMPS out before the last "poop ball" has drop...so we find that last one near the box or half way across the room! :eek:
(Not to mention how many times she had turned over the litter box when she tri-pods on the edge to poop!)
Here's my bulldog Lloyd enjoying a ride in his Radio Flyer and schmoozing with some neighborhood buddies. The golden retriever I'm greeting in the picture just had her thirteenth birthday, and Lloyd's eighth birthday is today.
Towing a bulldog around Manhattan in a wagon is a great way to meet new people and save cab fare at the same time.

Does he seriously chase airplanes? That is so cool, though probably inconvenient. Poor guy with the porcupine problem! He does look sad. Great photos.

yep. I've seen a rabbit run right in front of him and him not see it, but airplanes he chases. I had a friend who called me a liar to my face when I told her that he did that. We went for a walk together a few weeks later and she suddenly started shouting "Oh My G, Oh My G..." and Lo and behold, Murphy was chasing an airplane. Next day she went around telling everyone.Quote:

He also chases the Canada Geese that often fly overhead, as long as they are honking so he hears them.
