Two years ago today I was adopted by Chloe, a chow mix who had been through several living situations in a very short period of time (3 weeks) before finally settling into her "furever" home. Her description on the rescue's webpage simply stated "timid". Every other dog had little biographies. She had one word. In two years she's worked on shedding "timid" (still a work in progress) but has definitely allowed her personality to finally shine through (even the bratty parts :D ). She sheds fur like it's her job , doesn't like the Maltese across the street  but has a soft spot for the young King Charles Spaniol a few houses down :). She hates baths but will allow me to brush her until my arms fall off. She'll chase squirrels and is daily flummoxed by the resident woodchuck.
She was an early birthday gift to myself and definitely a gift that has kept on giving.
