Revisiting the wool bra
Just bringing this thread back to life because if you did not know how amazing a wool bra can be, you should. I own two of these and have worn them exclusively on the bike since I started riding again in January. I got the small and the medium and they both fit- I am just a 34A so don't need much support. They are great for both cold and hot weather. They do get wet. I mean really wet with sweat, but I never notice until I take it off. They are so soft and comfortable, they don't give you a "uniboob", and they wash well with no pilling. They are not itchy- at all! And wool doesn't get smelly. My only complaint is the straps come too close to my neck- they show with a regular t-shirt but not so much with jerseys. Buy one and you will never go back.

I *so* wish I could find a wool bra that was supportive enough, but as I'm a 36F I doubt that will happen anytime soon! :o
I adore wool :D

I have two and I love them, but when they get wet (including sweaty) they do smell like wool.
They don't get any BO smell like synthetics can. But they smell strongly of wet wool.

Wool wins every time!
I've been lurking here for a while...not sure that I had anything particular to offer the forum, while appreciating the wisdom and inspiration of like-minded folks. But the wooly thing is the catalyst that prompted me to post. Ibex wool products are wonderful; I should have figured the bras would be great. I live in a most northern state and have a small collection of Smartwool garments. In one of my other lives, I am a feltmaker. I have been contemplating/designing a felted biking cap of merino wool. Presumably, cold weather riders are willing to adjust their helmets to accommodate winter caps. I do, but I don't do a ton of cold weather riding. What's the prevailing thought on hats in cold weather?

Merlin,
welcome to TE
the trouble with a felted cap is that it might be TOO thick. Although I do wear a little wool cap in the winter, it is lightweight and loose (and covers my ears; these are hard to find!!)

Too thick--that's my concern. I guess I'll just have to make one and see.
I will let you know!
