Wanted: Musicians
Wanted- musicians. I'm looking for anyone who can help me with a very low budget project (read, will trade cookies or Lunabars). I'm looking for someone who can sing and or play an instrument to record (nothing fancy, just dump it on a cd) a version of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man".
Before you think I'm nuts (okay, even if you do) let me 'splain...
Once upon a time there was a boy who promised his bff's that the first song @ his wedding would be "Iron Man". Fast forward-Boy's fiance' say "Umm...no". Then she decides that as they are not having a traditional reception anyway, what if she can come up with different versions of the song (anything but metal) to play at random over the course of the day (ie walking down the aisle, at dinner, post-toast)
It would be the funniest thing ever. If I can't find anything, my JOH (Jessica of Honor) suggested leaving the chapel to the sound of the guest playing it on kazoos. If you're interested, let me know; I'm asking only those who don't know him, and can't tell him what I'm up to...I can't pay much, but would be willing to trade, bake cookies (cupcakes if you're close!) etc.
Thanks for reading my nutty post!

I don't think I can help you but thanks for putting that in my head.
daa daa da da da!
dadadadada da da da!
For those unfamiliar, here are the warm and moving Lyrics of "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath
Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
Well just pass him there
Why should we even care?
He was turned to steel
In the great magnetic field
Where he traveled time
For the future of mankind
Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
That he will soon unfold
Now the time is here
For iron man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved
Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge
Heavy boots of lead
Fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron man lives again!

It would just be so funny...Fiance' is quite concerned; he doesn't really care what else I do, but this song is important to him, and he brings it up weekly.

I wish I was a musician so that I could help you out! It sounds like a great idea!

I don't know the song, but my sister's boyfriend is an excellent guitarist and (better) bluegrass mandolin player, with a better than decent voice. I'll see if he would be interested.
Here he is playing "You are my sunshine": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0cJzTgauCo and the St. Anne Reel on mandolin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWOZE...eature=channel (there, he auditioned for you)

if you do bittorrents, you might search for the song by name. There are someunexpectedly strange and bizarre renditions of aall sorts of songs out there. Examples might be a steel drum version of the James Bond Theme, reggae version of Stairway to Heaven, etc.

I love the kazoo idea!
(I've kept listening to I-Tunes)
Oh - oh - my favorite - a Bollywood version!!!
Salsa!
Orchestral strings!
now I just need to hear Tom Jones sing it and my life will become complete...

Would you like to see if a member of my flute quartet can arrange it for 4 flutes? It would be very classy and highbrow, I'll say!

I never even though to check I-Tunes- Duh.
Becca, sfa, if it's something you might seriously consider, that would be awesome. Again, it's definatley a work of love, so I couldn't pay much, but would give you billing and send you cookies, or cupcakes if you're close.
