those do range from humorous to oh, my God. Times have changed mostly, and the trend now, at least on TV, is to show how clueless men are from everything from cooking to child care to personal hygiene.
Frankly I think this one is hilarious,

Many young women I know have NO idea what life was like in the not so distant past...I believe I'll pass this along.
Dammit, and I've even been known to burn the beer too. I must completely suck as a wife.
But if you don't watch the grain carefully when you're toasting it, it goes from nicely brown to burnt black in almost no time, and then you better hope that your husband likes dark beer.

I'm glad they at least had one modern ad. It's not like things have changed all that much. American Apparel is appalling, but they're by no means alone.
How about this one?
There's a lot of modern stuff here:

I needed a laugh like that (I checked out a bunch of her older posts too).
It's funny now though I'm sure that if I was living it I'd feel differently... I have to admit the French tampax ad made me laugh out loud

If you've never seen the "Gallery of Regrettable Foods" do check it out. It will have everyone around you wondering why you are laughing so hard you are crying...
Thanks for turning me on to B.O.B.
I've been reading Jezebel and Twisty the Spinster Aunt.
1) American Apparel is well known as being skeezy
2) I looked at the comments and there was a link to cigarette advertising there. I bet most of you didn't know they used to decorate cigarette cartons for Christmas gift giving. No wrapping needed, just fire up those Chesterfields!
Oh man, I loved these. This is the same life my mom had. Always putting on lipstick before my dad came home, making sure the house was clean. She was so smart, yet not allowed to work outside of our home. Such a waste of intellect!
Thanks Sammy. I'm passing these on.

Thanks for sharing - I thought some of those looked more recent. Sad. But funny.
Yes, a sad but funny reminder of how far we've come. In some ways and in some places we still have far to go. This being a multicultural global board I'm not gonna debate that.
And yet perhaps in response to that men have been replaced:

Those ads are hilarious! Thanks for a good laugh!!!
