Sunday 29 March rides
I went down my favorite scenic road today and found the redbuds in bloom.

And then I came across the mare and foal and this time they were a little closer to me.
Mom is starting to trust me more and the baby was a little more curious about my camera and the bike.

I continued on my journey and on the way back I found the baby sleeping right against the fence.
I stopped and grabbed the camera but as soon as I did, he decided it was best to be back near mama. He's still a little shy. :)

Maybe next week I'll get a close-up shot of the baby. :)

I love your pics, especially the mare and foal. awwwww tooo cute.

Thanks! I love riding this road just so I can see the baby. If you look close enough, there appears to be a little swirly dot on the foal's forehead. :)

thanks for the lovely photos. No photos from me, but we did a 20 mile loop through some nice neighborhoods. it was still too cold out, but since it was dry, it was easy to just dress warmly.

I was at about mile 7, giving serious thought to cutting it short because it was DANG windy, and then the skies opened up and proceeded to drench me! I checked weather.com and it said nothing about rain today! So, short it was. Better than nothing though, and I've been so lazy of late that me+lack of any exercise+really really windy = slow slow slow.
Felt good to be out there though and felt a lot like spring is finally really here, not just teasing us to just go away again. So, more rides to come very soon, I hope!
Love the photos. If my ride was more scenic, I'd try and take some photos. But not too much to see around my neighborhood. :)

Boy and I did 22 miles around the carquinez scenic loop, at his pace. With Training for the Cinderella Classic, I've been riding a little too seriously. It was nice to just go out and have some fun. I'm not bright enough to post here, but pics are on my facebook....AWESOME views!

Awesome pictures of the horses. They are such beautiful creatures!!! The redbuds are blooming here, too. I LOVE those trees.
Rode 20 miles at the local lake. Wind was CRAZY! Pedaled hard into it going 9-10 mph, barely pedaled with the wind and was going 27 mph. Gotta push through the tough headwind to enjoy a sweeeeeet tailwind. :)
Took a couple pictures. My bike at the swingset near the lake, and I also included the picture of my legs while on the swing that I didn't know I took until I got back home. Hello legs. :p
Great riding today. Beautiful weather and in the 60's. Yesterday it was snowing. Weird. :)

Went to church, somebody there suggested that I could find the bike club back at the coffee shop, so I went there and found Tom and Mary Lou -woohoo!
came back home with 30 miles

Still fighting a cold but braved the unseasonably cold weather to cheerlead DH at his race. Then I had the most glorious nap. I miss riding. I love red buds, they are blooming here too.

I did the first PMBC club XC event yesterday. I was out to get back into the scene & do some testing. My first goal was to remain calm/breathing going round corner uphill. (Uphill going round corner with pea gravel right at the bend..) Ok on first lap, almost ok on second. Second goal, nutrition. Errmm..good thought but not quite there. I will work on this during my dirt time this weekend.
I wasn't out to come first, which is a good thing because i came last out of 5 chickadees ;) A corner plus my bike struck back & have some very nice bruises on my left side & sore arm.
(The pic btw is at the beginning of the course & was following a long line of other riders. The Elite/Expert folks started 1hr after us)
Next club race, April 19th. I have time to do some work on nutrition timing & uphill skills on pea gravel. Ahh, gotta love pea gravel

What a fab place to ride Sundial. Lovely pics.
30k flat ride today, working on cadence and pedalling round, not up and down :)

3 hour ride on a skills course on Sunday, up some steep long hills and then down some steep gravelly descents. My first ever river crossing! :D wet feet and big fun :D
Then some more decent training, some sessioning on big woodland steps then down a really rooty dark cool wooded section, lovely on such a sunny day. Then another gravelly, rocky descent to a river crossing but i took the bridge cos it looked too deep for me. Then back a couple of k on a nice sweeping curvy track practising efficient cornering and traction through the exits.
Brilliant fun!

I had a beautiful 3 hour ride, and I ended up riding with someone I met along the way. I love decent weather and new friendships!

I did another 21-mile ride, same as last week. I just love that Salado Creek Greenway and am so impressed that such a nice little trail is smack-dab in the middle of my city. :) It was a beautiful day and everyone was waving and saying hello to each other. Definitely a feel-good day. :) :)
I had a little bit of a bummer when I got home and discovered that my long-sleeve Nike tennis shirt (pre-dates Dri-Fit) had gone missing. I took it off and slipped it under the bungee cords on my rack, but it must have escaped somewhere along the way home. I've had that shirt forever and I just love it. Sigh. :( (I may drive the route today to see if I can find it on the side of the road.)
EDIT: Found it! I hope it'll wash out...it wasn't grey initially. :p

This was my last ride for a while, as I'm having knee surgery tomorrow.
Our LBS had a 20% off the Super-Duper Tune Up sale going on, so I rode William down and dropped him off. I figure that the less temptation the better for a while. . . (No, I didn't walk home, DH picked me up at the LBS.)
Anyway, it was a lovely ride down the bike path. I was feeling the knee, so I was being passed by turtles and snails, not to mention people with walkers and small children, but it felt good to get out on a nice Sunday afternoon. Did I mention I was riding slowly?
Ah well, it was a ride, and I'm glad it was a good one, if rather shorter and slower than I would have wished.
