Is this proof of cycling taking over my life?

In the past week, or even less really, two of my bras have died. One underwire broke, the other spent the entire day poking me on BOTH sides. Now other than pain and discomfort this sucks because I really need new sports bras. Both I've had for ages, only like the fit of one, and I need more than one to get through the week.

So I was thinking of getting some nice Moving Comfort bras. Would it be weird if I uh, just got those? They have some very normal bra like ones. It's not like I'm prowling for guys so who cares about uni-boob?

I'm looking at a Phoebe and a Fiona right now. Something pull over, something that will lift and separate, etc.

Am I being a complete and total dork? I don't want to become that girl at the grocery store in sweats, 4 day unwashed hair in a pony tail and a promotional baseball cap (when I wear PJs to the grocery store they're at least cute) but real life is really cutting into my bike money.

A coworker of mine wears nothing but sports bras but she could probably get away with nada. So I'm not sure that's a cute look for busty girls.

I don't own a 'real' bra. They are instruments of torture to me.

I have a camisole with cups if the need arises, which it rarely does.

I'm not exactly sure what the question is?

LOL, me neither. Only if my home was burning down, I'll run over to the store like this. On adult women, PJs in grocery stores looks...dumb. I know, I'm a slumber party pooper. :p

I tend to wear older bras since I'm sweating them up. I don't need sports bras, something less all fabric underwear-wise, since am smaller anyway. But definitely never underwired bras while on bike.

I haven't rocked this look in a long time, but I used to live in a smaaaall town and nobody gave a rat's rear end. I never did the whole PJ look, it was usually just super comfy PJ pants and a cute tank top that I would normally wear in public and of course proper undergarments. And there were certain hours I found this acceptable. Like say 5AM runs for donuts and coffee to coerce my hungover friends to get up for a trail ride and late night munchy runs. Times when no one would see me, basically. And most people think I look all of 16 so I guess I used that to get away with it.

Hey understood. Just keep it a pleasant memory of youth forever. Otherwise the older you get, you'll look like woman with a bit of dementia or at least homeless in the grocery store with PJs on. :)

No you are not being a total dork for owning just sport bras. It just says yo are really into sports. That is far from being a dork. You are just being pragmatic that is all.

I bought a GRRREAT sports bra recently and would happily buy 5 more of the same and wear them all the time if not for the fact that i also got some amazingly comfortable supportive real bras from the same shop. As a 32/34 DD/E i need the support god love me, but the sporty i got is soooo good it's unreal. Nice look too.

It's a Max Sports Shock Absorber and i love it.

heheh - can't really help you on the bra question, but had to giggle at the grocery store picture. Once I get home from work (where I wear casual but clean and neat clothes that fit) I shower and jump into increasingly grubby sweat pants, thick wool socks, t-shirt and a fleece jacket or maybe a loose wool sweater with paint spots on it. So my neighbours are used to seeing me at the grocery store in either sweaty full bike commuter gear, helmet, blinky and all, or the above ballerina slash homeless woman shuffling around in untied shoes look. No wonder they look kind of flabbergasted when I turn up at school occasions wearing make-up and a skirt :p

I totally get what you're saying. I bought 2 bras this week, and it was VERY expensive. I couldn't help thinking I'd rather be buying bike stuff, but really, I needed the bras. I probably could get away with sports bras all the time, but I don't. I like a little lace.
