Wonderful news. I saw snowdrops in bloom. Winter is not forever.

I know spring is nearing when I smell the dead skunks on the country roads in the night! :P

Where are you, sundial? I've heard a few songbirds (though I can't put names to songs, unfortunately), but it seems to still be way too early for peepers here. The creek and pond across the street from me get them every year and they're sometimes so loud that I can hear them with the door closed and the tv on. I love that :D
Sundial is in the South, I will let her elaborate if she chooses.
Spring is here in Texas, my car said 80 today and there is a poor dead skunk at the entrance to my neighborhood. Stinky critters but they are so cute, poor skunky.
I got back from a week traveling for work where I barely had a chance to look up. But I got back and my winter jasmine in front of my house is in full bloom. Granted, it's winter jasmine and it's supposed to be blooming, but it's such a welcome sight!
Around the corner the neighbors have some daffodils that are blooming. I, being a supreme procrastinator, only planted my bulbs last week! But they were in my fridge for a few months, so maybe they'll come up.
In the meantime, it's still cold here--not spring yet.
Daffodils blooming?!?
There is NOTHING even beginning to peek up through the frozen ground here. Still plenty of snow and ice in the shady areas, and temps in the teens most every night.
But I'm glad that some of us are enjoying peepers and daffodils... :) Daffodills just have that Spring smell. I did hear the chickadees calling each other like mad this morning, getting ready for romance.... :p
I placed an order with Gurneys Seed & Nursery Company! Granted, it won't ship until April, but still, my heart is racing!
All my ruellia, mexican heather, society and japanese thorny bush (forgot what they are calles) are bare and ugly but I hope they will be coming back around soon. My landscaping looks a little haggard at the moment. :o
what is this thing you call spring?
I'm preparing for a March blizzard
spring ? ? ? ? ?
It is +2 farenheit here and we still have 4 feet of snow on the ground.
Me thinks spring may get here by June 21st
We took a long woodland hike with Paisley today, and the daffodils were blooming at an old homestead (nothing left but the remnants of two stacked stone chimneys) along the trail. It was in the 40s but very sunny and pretty out. Our daffs are a late-blooming hybrid and are up about 2-4", but no blooms yet.
I love spring!
that means it's the slippery slide into Autumn here :(:(:(:(:(:(
