Gore Xenon Jersey
http://www.teamestrogen.com/prodGB_SXENOL.html
For anyone that owns this jersey, or knows about it...
Do you get a lot of sun exposure through the mesh insert that is in the back of the jersey? Or, is it tight enough weave that the sun doesn't penatrate?
I'm worried about getting fried while riding in the drops (very fair skin). It's a really nice jersey otherwise.
TYIA for any responses!

Hi Miranda, I have two of these (one black and one white, and I"m so sad I missed the pink one last year, I kept waiting for it to go on sale and then once it did there weren't any left in my size!).
Anyway, I love love love this jersey. The cut it beautiful, nice and long in the torso. It's actually not accurate to say that it has "a mesh insert in the back" -- the whole jersey is a very lightweight, silky mesh (somewhat open, you really see a white sports bra under the white one, though the black one is fine in that regard). It is very cool to wear even in hot "sleeveless" weather.
I have never burned through it, but I am more of a tanner than a burner. I don't think the risk is much higher than with another lightweight jersey.
You can maybe get a sense of how light the fabric is in these pictures (you can definitely see where my bra ends and skin begins):

Thank you so much for sharing that information and posting your pictures! :) The jersey looks great on you too, btw.
I have a hard time finding jerseys because I have a long torso. As soon as I tried this jersey on I was in love with it. I think it is probably the best fitting jersey I have ever ordered.
I'm a very fair skinned natural red head. Millions of freckles. The only tan I ever get is one that comes out of a bottle of fake bake lotion.
I knew of course a trade off for the coolness would be to use sunblock. I wasn't sure if that would even be enough. Depending how much the mesh let light penatrated the jersey. I'll probably still use some sunblock, but it's good to know how it performs for someone that actually owns it:cool:.
