After the decompression and fusion on my neck, it will all be held together with a titanium plate. I was quite disappointed to learn I will not be setting of alarms at airport metal detectors...

Darn, sorry to hear you won't set off the alarms at the airport.
You'll be the ti-woman..:)
Well, you know, you want to save all the weight you can! Steel would be too heavy.:D
Karen
Think how FAST you'll be!!
Happy Last Day at Work for a while, Snap!
And here I thought it was a new bike. New neck parts instead is awesome! Good luck on your surgery!
Best of luck to you with your surgery and recovery!
I am so glad you're getting titanium and not carbon. Having carbon in there would be like having a ticking time bomb in your neck parts. ;)
Take care, Snap!!

With your attitude, you will set records on recovery. Best wishes.
WooHoo! Last day of work for 11 (that's right! Eleven!) weeks! I'm surprised no one slapped me today, I was walking around with a sh*t eating grin all day. :D
trekhawk - surgery is on October 27th, I'll be home Oct. 28.
I have never been off work for this amount of time since I began my illustrious career.
Snap, I hope you have a wonderful time this weekend. You've trained your butt off so I bet you will!
I was disappointed to find out that my metal plate and four pins in my pelvis are stainless steel and not ti. But I don't set off airport alarms either! The first time I flew after my surgery, I was kinda surprised.
