Say Hello to my new commuter!!
I had gotten a Giant Boulder (the steel version) last summer to use for commuting. I didn't want anything fancy, but I sure should have thought more about comfort. My main bike is the OCR-C (all carbon composite - v.light)...and this commuter comparably felt like it weighed as much as 2 of my cocker spaniels. I rationalized last year that it'd help me get stronger for my "real" riding. All it did was keep me from wanting to ride it. So... I haven't commuted one day this whole year! <sigh>
A girlfriend of mine has been shopping for a new road bike and she's a "Trekkie" (not the show, the bikes... LOL). Her catalogues gave me bike l*st.. and anyhow...I went over to the Trek store today. Low n behold...there she was.... a 2008 Trek FX 7.5 wsd. She fits..and she is light as a feather!
Here is a picture of her

I don't have her yet, but hope to pick her up Tuesday and able to start saving gas again by Thursday! (Wed is my group ride...gotta take the OCR for that one!)
Can't wait to see her all decked with my rack (uhh..the kind for hanging bags... .. oh, okay. seriously.. you know what I mean!) LMAO
Now I can go grocery shopping with her and lots of other short errands too! Yippee Skippee!
Why is getting another bike even more exciting than getting a new car? :D
