Holy cow! SOOOO impressive!!!
Such a technical course -- same course for the men and the women. Only difference was that the men went for two extra laps (22 miles vs. 16 miles). WOW WOW WOW :p:p:p

I missed it! Dang it!!!!!
I saw that it was only going to be shown Friday during the day (I was at work) or overnight (early Sat. am, I believe), which made me mad. I would have loved to see it....
So much beach volleyball, so little cycling...dern Olympics....
Caught the men's at midnight last night.....would have loved to have seen the women's!
It was a sad race for Marie-Helene Premont (Quebec rider). This was pretty much her last major race as she's now going to transition to her "real" career. She had an incident happen to her and then her heart rate and breathing went totally out of control, she had to drop out. :(
That woman has a spectacular smile. I hope she has a great life post-racing. I'm sure she will, she was always very balanced and kept going with her life activities and cross-training at home etc.

www.nbcolympics.com -- you'll have to install Silverlight but that is a small price to pay to watch it at your leisure on your computer!!!
Yeah, really tough run for M-H ... she must have been so bummed. Super high HR and hyperventillation is not something you want to mess with though.
Also a tough race for Kika (Cathrine Pendral) --- she was in 3rd for most of the race and then her shifting messed up and she got passed ... bummer!
Great race by Sabine though - wow!
I got to see the compressed showing of the women's race but the DVR cut off most of the men's race. Does the online have a longer version? At first my husband (the mt biker) said "that course doesn't look too hard", then he saw the hairpin climb and that descent and retracted. :p
Could Sabine Spitz been any happier? It was fun to watch the joy of the medalists.
Yes, the on-line version runs for the entire 2 hours!

scroll down to Search Video and put cycling as the sport ... you can watch the whole race (mens and women's), just the highlights, the crashes and the awards too!
Enjoy!
I can't watch it either. I can't download it at work because I can't download the program to run it, and at home my connection is too slow and it won't load. I wish it would be available in dvd, especially if it's two hours long!
vickie
Luckily my computer at work supports the video, and I've been watching the entire 2.5 hours, stopping and starting as needed. Best camerawork for a mountain bike race I've ever seen. I didn't know it was possible to make mt. bike racing a good spectator sport! Kudos to the people who set up all the cameras and ran them. There must have been a lot of cameras going.
