I've been a little worried because I haven't been as comfortable on my bike as I felt I should be. I thought perhaps it was due to my generally crappy physical condition. :p Consequently I haven't been riding as much as I should.
But I took some time today to really pay attention to the things about the bike that were bothering me. I realized I needed to adjust the angle of both my saddle and handlebars. I rode a bit, made a little adjustment, rode a little more, made another adjustment, etc., etc. -- and WOW, what a difference. To make a long story short, I just finished a 1 1/2 hour ride (my longest since I got the bike) and I feel fantastic!
Yippee! :D
PS I have no idea how far I rode or what my speed was because I took the cyclometer off when I was fiddling with the handlebars and forgot to put it back on. I gotta say, it was kinda nice not knowing that stuff...I may leave it off for the time being!

Good for you! :p
i love that feeling when you get something just right after fussing with it.

Exactly. To be honest, this is the first time where I feel like I can hardly wait to get back on the bike. I had been thinking that maybe I've just gotten too old and out of shape to enjoy bicycling anymore. Right now I'm practically in a state of euphoria. Bike fit is everything! :)

Oh yeah, slight adjustments sometimes make wonders.
I still have that "sliding down seatpost" problem on my hybrid. Took it on a tour this weekend with my husband, and on the second day I just could not climb any hill. Granted I was carrying a lot of weight on the bike and I was tired from the day before, but things didn't seem right.
At one of the rest stops I checked the saddle. It had slid down almost a whole inch!!!! I was climbing like a champ again as soon as I fixed it... (until it slid down again. have to fix that this week).
Glad you found your sweet spot!

Poop, I was looking forward to riding again today but the rain they have been promising since Saturday has finally arrived. It's really coming down! :p
