No "frn." But, this list is interesting nonetheless! I had no idea there was so much internet slang out there!

I'm so out of it I was just trying to figure out what "fora" was!!! :D
Hmm, I think this is the right one. Someone on another forum continually rants about our economic system and I think he has started using "frn" as a pejorative any time cost of a service or item is discussed.
It's just that in the disjointed conversations of forums, it's hard to identify the right meaning. There are so many possibilities.
I may just have to drop "Fully Recovered Nerd" into the conversation sometime. :p
Ah. My guess would be he's one of those fringe tax-resister types, and FRN stands for Federal Reserve Note, i.e. paper money.
Is it just this one guy who's using the abbreviation? Or are you seeing it in different places?
ok, after googling it, I think "frn" is a cell phone texting abbreviation for "friend".
See it in use here:

Multiple people are using it on one specific forum though I think I've seen it other places, but they could be posting using a different name. It's definitely being used by the folks ranting about costs, taxes, etc. Federal Reserve Note makes absolute sense, or at least close enough that I don't have to keep doing :confused::confused:
I think I know who you're talking about SK - I'm pretty sure he's referreing to Federal Reserve Note.
