LOL - Glad I'm not the only one who does that. A few years ago a group of friends went over to see the race while we stayed at home, and spend ages with the remote control trying to spot our friends. We finally got it down to a tiny, vague blur which might ( or might not!) have been them :)Quote:

Am I right in thinking you guys get ProCyling magazine? If you do, check out the latest issue ( the one with Boonen on the front). BF wrote an article about the cobble-fixing day and I provided a photo of some of the activities which they published, and even put my name next to it!
We both ran down the newsagents on the day of issue and stood there giggling in the shop admiring our handy work. :D
Ooh, we have international celebs and published folks in our midst! The local newstand carries ProCycling so I'll probably just wander by there tonight.Quote:

I don't take that mag - but like Sadie I'll go looking for this one now!.....so I can point and say "oh yeah - I know her"!
Alas - it isn't actually a pic of me, just one I took of some of the guys digging away to fix the pave. Someone took a few pics of me but I looked a total fright after lumping huge cobble stones around all afternoon. :D
It was a great experience, especially as most of the people there didn't speak any English so we did a good line in miming / sign language. Made me really wish I could speak French - I has so much I wanted to say and ask.
The section we were working on was only a few yards from where I got engaged last April so it was very special to be near that spot.
MM, can we invite you to join our Team Estrogen club over at bikejournal.com? Some of us (22 forum members!) have started the club to log our miles and provide a bit of friendly inspiration for each other (read cut-throat, all-out, ruthless, competition and mileage envy). It's a fun site and it's free to join. We'd just love to have you along!
Say, Corsair, did you see we topped 10,000 miles?!
