Alimony.
V.
With a healthy alimony settlement?
Yes probably either alimony or a trust fund/rich family.
But what I find odd is the article's title.
Again with the emphasis on marital status and seeking-love-and-validation theme for women.
If this person was a man would they have chosen that title, I ask you?
I don't think so.
She's a CRNA. Around here they get paid $135,000+ a year fresh out of school.
I think she bankrolled all that cash she was spending on cigarettes.
Honestly, I'm surprised by the responses here. How about, she affords it because she worked for years and saved? Has the financial savvy to have saved the pennies from her childhood lemonade stand into a sustainable income? Revenue from her patented inventions? Sold her latest invention to Microsoft? Started a business and got famous on Oprah? Why assume it's from her divorce settlement?
(Of course, facts will probably prove me wrong and she is a trust-fund baby:o)
I also find it odd that the title says "nonsmoker". Her lungs are an ex-smoker's.
However she bankrolled the adventures, good for her for kicking the habit and getting off the sofa.
Saved her pennies from her lemonade stand?.....she was SMOKING it all away, remember? http://www.cinematical.com/images/20...graduate40.jpg :D
From the Boston.com article:
She tucked in training around her 60-hour workweek and finished her first-ever footrace, the 1994 New York City Marathon, in 3 hours 36 minutes - just over 8 minutes per mile, fast enough to qualify for Boston's 99th running.
and:
For years, she'd been working two jobs and saving up to climb the world's highest peak. She'd refinanced her house, and she'd trained her body - sprinting uphill with a tire tied to her waist - and her mind, running on a treadmill for three hours at a time without radio or television for distraction.
Jeez, she'd think I was a slug. More power to her!
