It's always time for red ones . . . .
I don't know, have they stopped turning your feet black every time it rains? When they run out of dye it's time for new shoes :D
My husband's bike shoes (carbon-soled road shoes) are over 50,000 km (30,000 miles) old. He lost his left heel pad (under the sole) last week.
His parents gave him money for a new pair for his birthday (last March) but he still won't let go of them.
He went to this hill climb race last week and it was sort of funny to see him with his old jersey (with holes), old shoes, and somewhat old bike (as old as the shoes), pulling the pack of Cat 1-2 racers for a while, and finishing 4th behind and before people with thousands of dollars of new gear. The engine matters most.
So if you'd like new shoes go ahead. But it's not the time or distance that really justifies it, at least not with 2000 miles! :D Just do it for you if that's what will make you happy!!
