loaded touring bike question

Greetings.
I am joining friends for a relatively short loaded tour in the canadian rockies (4-5 days of riding, plus some overnights to hang out, hike, etc). I need to procure a bike for the trip.

Has anyone ever rented a bike suitable for loaded touring in either northern cal or jasper/banff/edmonton/calgary? When I was in Italy last year, I rode with folks on loaded touring bikes which they had rented, so I wondered whether this was available anywhere in the US. Anyone have any ideas??

Otherwise, any suggestions for where I might look to find a used small women's bike set up for loaded touring? I've been looking on craigslist, etc. but haven't seen anything suitable. I am somewhat reluctant to get yet another bike, especially because I am unlikely to use it more than one or two times a year.
