Unfortunately he wasn't the only cyclist killed in the area that day. Another cyclist crashed into the opening door of a four-wheel drive outside a local school and was knocked into the path of an oncoming truck. Those of us who live here in Wellington are all pretty angry. There is some talk of a memorial ride this week.

I'm sorry that it takes the death of cyclists for people to think about thier actions. Then again, I know what Auckland drivers are like *sigh* and just keep my fingers crossed.

And trust the media to start with saying the cyclist was killed by "falling into the path" of the truck and sort of forgetting that an automobile driver had opened the door in his path and *that* is what killed him, not some mysterious force of falling.
