New bike...trash find
I couldn't resist. It was dusty and dirty, but when cleaned up it was just like NEW. I know it's not a good bike, but hey, I couldn't resist.
This doesn't take the place of a new road bike surely.:D

how is that not a nice bike? i wish I had one so that I could fix it up
-
that is FABULOUS!!!!!
I want to go through the garbage in your neighborhood, too!
(has Huffy gotten sexier, or is it just me?)
-
Bike Rescue! Every bike deserves some lovin'. Now you have a beater bike or you can give/sell it to someone else who needs one and help draw her into the world of cycling.
ETA: It's really sad that it was just thrown away because it looks like it's in great shape other than having to be cleaned-up. It could of been donated to a charity thift store or one of those charities that sends bikes oversees.
-
Well, it is a nice bike, I guess not a quality bike. Huffy is pretty sexy now. I agree. I love the handlebars. I wish I had taken a picture before I cleaned it up. It was so covered with dust, you wouldn't have guessed what was underneath. One of the tires was out of the rim, but easy to fix.
I've already been thinking what special person I might want to pass this on to. It was free to me, so I wouldn't sell it.

madscot13, how would you fix it up?
-
-
Wow, bike shopping is overrated. Let's just all visit the backalleys around Sandra's town!
-
That's actually a very gorgeous bike. I had to look closely before realizing it was a Huffy. You KNOW some kid would just LOVE to have that bike to cruise around on. Know any kids/preteens who could put it to use?
-
What's to fix up? Looks brand spankin' new to me. Why change anything? :)
-
That's exactly what I thought! That's why I wondered what madscot13 would do to fix it up! A good washing fixed it right up.
-
And I don't know of a kid right off. I'm thinking hard. I don't want it to be cast aside again.
-
Great find, Sandra! The lines and proportions are gorgeous!
-
wow, what a great find! if you don't know a kid, call the local boy's club (isn't that the name?) I'll bet there's lots of kids that would like that bike. (and if not kids, grown up kids!!!)

holy crap, that's awesome!!! that's an antique, I love it... good find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
