men's short sizing???

Lately I've seen some good deals online on some of the better Castelli men's shorts models. Seems like when the nicer women's shorts are on sale, they never have my size. So, are men's sizes comparable to women's sizes? I've looked at the charts, but charts are so unreliable anyway -- and men are built in notably different ways from women in the waist/hips department :rolleyes: (among other things). So, if I wear a size small in women's Castelli shorts (but have a big difference between waist & hips), will I wear the same size in men's? smaller, larger? depends on the brand? any experience out there with Castelli men's shorts?
