Cordless Stick Vacuums
Should I put this in Waaay OT?
Any recommendations for cordless stick vacuums? We now have hardwood floors with lots of woven area rugs (like dhurries). The central house vac is just a PITA for quick stuff and the hose could be a tad longer for a few areas.
I think I'll toodle over to Sears this evening armed with a bag of puppy biscuit crumbs. I love my Wonder Poodle, but a Hoover-style Labrador he ain't.
What do you think of the Eureka Quick-up?

I've got a Eureka Boss Lite Cordless that works well for crap the dogs drag in, little bits of paper from the shredder, etc. It certainly can't substitute when a good vacuuming is called for, but it is great for little in-between cleanups. Kind of like a dustbuster with a long handle.
I keep it hanging on the inside of the basement door, charging all the time so it's ready to go when needed. I'd never drag out a vacuum with a cord, so the cordless is nice.

My mom gave me a Shark cordless stick vac for xmas last year. It looks like those old non-electric Bissell's they use in restaurants. It works GREAT. I've almost stopped sweeping at all and use that everywhere in the house. It won't suck up fringe on the rug if the fringe is not too long. (I have a rug under the dog bowl that has a few pulled places that get wrapped around any vacuum's roller. Never took the time to cut the off.)
The amount of dust and dog hair this thing picks up is amazing for what it is. I keep expecting the rechargeable battery to give out, but so far it's still holding its charge well. I can do the whole house, forget to plug it in for a few days, and do the whole house again. My Shark vacuum cleaner SUCKS! lol.

We went to Sears last night and the one and only cordless stick vac they had in stock was the Eureka Quick-up which has gotten good reviews elsewhere. We bought figuring it that expensive as a test and it has a brush for carpets.
We then wandered down to Macy's and saw the Shark for which I'd also seen good reviews. If the Eureka doesn't suck ;) we'll start over with the Shark.
At least the two brands at the top of my list were the two mnetioned first. Thanks!
