Dressing for an early season tri
I'm thinking about doing a triathlon in April. What do you do about dressing if the air temperature is too cool for a sleeveless tri suit and shorts? Can you wear something long sleeve under the wetsuit or do you deal with getting a jersey onto a wet torso?
Snow this wknd, Tri Next wknd....
Thanks for asking this question! I am running into the same problem with my triathlon next weekend.
Unfortunately I woke up to about 6in. of snow this morning!
The ideal I had going into my first triathlon did not involve snow, but that may just be the case. Remnants of it anyway, hopefully most of it will melt by then.
I'm guessing the temps will be in the lower 50's. My plan is to throw on one of my LS running tops that has fold down "mittens" in T1. If that doesn't keep me warm enough I'll just have to bike harder. ;) The fold down mittens will save me a step in T2, I can just pull them over my hands during the run portion. I've debated about some sort of pants, not quite sure on that yet. They will get wet from my tri-suit bottoms. Is it still worth it?
My goal is just to finish so as long as I can do that given the weather and my fitness level I'll be pleased.
