Interesting! I immediately saw her going clockwise and then looked again and she was going counter-clockwise, then away and again and clockwise again.
Confirms my mental instability, eh?
I said counter to begin with, then changed to clockwise, so I'm dizzy too- a rt brainer. hee hee. Jenn;)
Totally clockwise.
And I can't make it turn counter-clockwise, no matter how much I try or imagine it.
She goes both ways for me.
At first I was in Regina's camp but I finally got her to switch.
Me, too, it's weird, every time I look at her, she's going a different direction. If I watch out of the corner of my eye while reading the words, I can see her change. If I stare at her, no matter which direction she's now going she never changes direction.
Then I get sick to my stomach and have to stop!
I think the site said that most people see her counterclockwise, but the few responses here seem to be leaning towards clockwise.
Definitely clockwise. I couldn't get her to switch. I might try again later.
The funny thing is, I've always thought of myself as a very left-brain person.
Clockwise
look away, look back
Clockwise
concentrate on my soup, look back
Clockwise
Read the text
Counter-clockwise in my peripheral vision
Look back
clockwise
Every time I was reading she went counter-clockwise
when I looked at her she went clockwise.
So, I guess I'm primarily right brained, but when I'm reading, I'm more left brained.
I always new there was something contradictory about me!

Ditto! Both ways...is this true???
Sheesh, I can't get that woman to spin counterclockwise no matter how hard I try. Turn, dangit, turn!!!
Perhaps I only have half a brain!! :D
Where's the test for that?
How fun! Thanks for that!
Aha......
If you stand up and look at your monitor from the top of the screen she will change direction...................
I am not half brained after all, okay, well, it was actually my husband who figured that out, but he isn't in the room to get credit for it right now
Shhh......don't want him thinkin' he is the smarter one.
Nope.
Still clockwise.
I look at it standing up.
I look at it sitting down.
I close my right eye.
I close my left eye.
I turn my head to the right.
I turn my head to the left.
I look at the moving foot on the right side of the picture (peripherally?), as my DH recommended.
Always clockwise.
Sigh.
p.s. And I'm with OakLeaf. I just took a Myers-Briggs test for a class I'm taking (will get the results on Friday), and all my answers about my own perception about me says "left-brained".
I guess I don't even know myself????
Now that was weird.
After reading some of your other responses (and going out, teaching Pilates and having dessert ;) ) I looked at it again. Clockwise. Then, I read the text on the page and really focused on thinking about what the text was saying. Counterclockwise. But when I went back to looking at her, she switched directions on me again.
I have a feeling it's more about which side of the brain is predominating at the moment you're looking at the image, not which side predominates generally. Just the fact of it being an image - and having movement - and being a dancer on top of that - maybe is going to bias the test toward the right brain? This just suggested itself to me when I had a similar experience to LTBC's.
