ETA- I just looked it up and it seems like it's just nutrition and training plans.
i'd never pay for it, though. what turned me off were the words "ALMOST OVERNIGHT!"
We have both the Cycle-core and the Cycle-Zen workouts.
They are basically a nice addition to trainer work, but if you are looking for core conditioning DVD's, there are much better and more comprehensive choices out there. That said, these videos do a good job and they are cycle-specific, which is nice. Many of the moves are the same as you'd find in other core-specific workouts.
My DH does these DVD's all the time (particularly the stretch one) because he finds them easier to follow than my other workouts. I think it's less intimidating to him to workout with a guy who's got similar flexibility challenges as he does. H does my workouts with me and gets annoyed that he can't really copy the moves because he doesn't have that kind of flexibilty. It's easier for him to follow the Cycle-core workouts and yet they are still plenty challenging.
As far as improvement? Neither of us has been consistent enough to see it...perhaps by next spring we'll be better equipped to answer that question! ;)
My first impression of cyclo-CORE was that it came across kinda gimicky.
I have a yoga DVD specific for cyclists to help with my flexibility and strength. With weight training, I know basically what to do to build core strength. Now I'm trying to refine my diet to get rid of the cellulite of steel.
Our winters are kinda mild here and we don't *usually* have cold weather but maybe 4-6 weeks a year--temps that are in the teens. I plan on riding through the winter if possible.
So should I continue to shop for better off season training DVDs?

I haven't had a chance to check out the website, but the DVD's are definitely not a gimick. The workouts are a sound approach to off-season training. It's a well rounded program, particularly if you aren't into putting your own rotations together (like I am...which is why I choose other workouts more often).
