That's what HE claims is causing all the noise DH is making when he pedals lately.
I'm wondering if having gone through a "flood" recently, he got wet pedals and my idea to use a bit of lithium grease on them when I get home from work tonight is a good one?
Any other suggestions?

You know, my shoes made noise too sometimes! Maybe I was just breaking them in? And yes, they did get a little wet!
If you grease his pedals and the "squeaky shoes" goes away, does he have to take you out for dinner?;)
Knotted -- nope, he doesn't: I'm losing weight and he's pretending to! AND we just got back from an eating out constantly vacation!
