Does anyone ride a Wilier??

I have been lucky enought to test ride a Wilier the last few weeks and have fallen in love. Anyone have or ridden one? Thoughts? Not too popular in the states yet but I think they are making a marketing change and trying to make the push to the US.

Wilier than what? ;) Sorry--I couldn't resist. And, double sorry, I've never heard of a Wilier bike, but I'm sure someone here will come back with a serious answer. Is there a website where we could see one?

A friend of mine in Montreal rides an Izoard and he's loved it for three years now. Not much more info, sorry. Very sporty bike.

Yeah the Izoard is the one I am getting. I am riding an older model called the Thor (2006) and its great! I currently ride a Trek 2100 and the two bikes are night and day! To my husbands dislike I am now getting a new bike. I am going for the blue.

I don't know much about them, but while watching the Tour de France the Wilier bikes consistently caught my eye. They look awesome! Congrats... It's fun to ride a bike that isn't too common (says the proud owner of a Blue RC.4). :D

BTW: Which color? Red or blue?

I just can't take my eye off of the blue... i named it "ice" - Not sure if it will stick but it just works right now.
The Wilier I am riding now is a black blue combo and its just clean looking. My Trek is charcoal/blak/red and its just not me. I might as well go with something that is more my style.
Its on the boat right now making the trek from Italy! Yeah! Hopefully get it built up in a couple of weeks! Wow I can hardly wait!

Oh boy! It reminds me of last month when my bike was being built and I had to wait. Here's a picture of it now:

You can see why I like the Wilier! It is another uncommon, sleek looking, blue bike!

Yeah it is tough waiting. The saving grace is that I have this demo bike for a while until someone my size needs it. Okay with me!!
The Avatar is my pup Oscar. He is a 9 year old lab, "my first born."
His life is about to be altered once again, we are getting a new pup at the beginning of Oct.. It is related to him, sister's pups pup.
He is a 90lb lap dog. The kids climb on him one minute and then he is out hunting with the best of them the next. He is one in a million!

I saw their website a while back and its pretty cool having a bike that is different. I am looking forward to having the Wilier. I get questions all the time.

Yeah I don't recommend a test ride... they will suck you in instantly. If you are ever making a trip down to Sacramento let me know and I can set you up with a ride. It just looks cool!
Its fun riding something that is a little different than the rest. They can set you up with either Shimano or Campy...I think I have become a Campy convert. Don't tell my Trek.

What level of components are you having it built with? Not that I know anything about Campy... :p

I am pretty sure its going to come with a mixture of Chorus and Centaur. Not sure because when it gets here I can play with the build a little.
I did go and ride comparable bikes yesterday...part of my husbands agreement to the new bike. Rode a Specilaized S-works, Madone 5.2 and the Spec. Tarmac. Didn't like the Sworks - to upright and squirrley, the Madone wasn't bad but just didn't have the quickness of the other. I liked the Tarmac alot, it was stiff and responsive in corners and power transfer. Much more agressive geometry, similar to the Izoard. It was the first time I had ridden with Shimano components since I got the loner Wilier and I can honestly now say I like the Campy components better. You didn't have to trim as often, no rub on the chain and the ergonomics of the shifting was more comfortable. Anyways I think I am very comfortable in my choice and I am sooo looking forward to getting "ice" in. -

Oooh no, do I dare test it? Keep in mind I am also in love with Sevens and Cervelos but that one looks just so unique.

See...this is the bad thing about having flight benefits. It opens a whole new world of danger.

Campy though...I have old style Campy shifting on my Bianchi (mid-80's) and now have Veloce on my Orbea.

Darned beautiful bike that is. Might just have to go check it out. What shop in Sacramento do you go to?
