Just read on Julian Dean's website that in 2008 he is leaving Credit Agricole and going to Slipstream too.
So that makes Dave Z., David Millar, Christian Vandevalde...
That will be some team!
And clean!

Speaking of new additions to Slipstream...
Magnus Backstedt has announced that he is the mysterious Paris-Roubaix winner signed by Jonathan Vaughters' Team Slipstream for 2008. Vaughters' announced to Cyclingnews last week that he had signed an active winner of the French classic, but refused to name which professional had signed with the squad.
With all these new, high-profile additions to the team, I'll be very curious to see how that affects the existing roster. There's some excellent, as-yet-unknown talent already there and it'd be a shame to see any of them leave to make room for the new guys (even though the new guys are so awesome).
Bummer. I hope the cutie Alex Something-or-Another hasn't been axed. He looks like someone who could be one of my sons. http://www.slipstreamsports.com/team...tail&bio_id=12
I need to find a Chipotle restaurant near me. Sounds like the kind of place that could accomodate my food preferences. And it supports my new Team!
And I *want* Slipstream argyle on *my* Subaru like in the team car photos.
(ooh, do I sound a little obsessed or what?)
Well, ya gotta hand it to Slipstream.
They've got to be some great salesmen to convince their financial backers to pony up the $$ for such a shopping spree. To get onto the Pro Tour at a time when pro cycling's name is dragged through the mud on a near-daily basis takes some serious you-know-whats.
And I know precious few cyclists who actually believe that any pro out there is really "clean." :(
You certainly know a few on this forum! I'm happy to be optimisitic and say that there are clean blokes out there racing at the pro level. They may not be the biggest names and they may not get a lot of the glory, but they're out there! Keep thinking positive, ladies. :)
And who knows...if they all keep getting fired from their teams...WE'LL all be racing in the Tour! :p
I too believe there are clean pro cyclists. I think they are the ones who are consistent riders and look beat up at the end of a day in the Pyrenees!
Woohoo Julian
So glad he has made it big time and stayed there and is wanted and signed up and is in the position to make choices.
Another Kiwi from DownUnder proves it is not about the size of the country you hail from, its about the size of your heart (LOL, never say "can't" to a Kiwi :p )
And the list goes on...

I think we have a new Tour team on the horizon. :D
