hemorrhoids help!

		I need some sort of solution.. for the 1st time I am having this little problem after rides... I did an 88 miler last week and they crept up on me the next day.. all seemd to be good this week, I rode no worries and then once again, after a team Tri - only 30 miles- and they are back. Anyone have some suggestions? I even wore some really nice realatively new shorts and I love my Terry saddle. Preventatives? Holistic approach? Best over the counter salves etc? ARRGH! Thanks!

		I had them after spending nearly two weeks in the saddle doing on average 90-100 km a day. NOT FUN.
I ended up out of the saddle for about two weeks, if not three, because I was really sick of cycling. Just walking around was irritating and I wondered whether I would ever be normal again. The over-the-counter salve (dunno the name but it's standard) sort of worked (or maybe it was just time...). I also often avoided wearing underwear if I could (in certain types of clothes) to reduce friction.
LOTS of water made things easier.....
Good luck. H. suck!!

		The OTC gels work well for me. I stay away from the ointments.
 And get some of the some prepackaged cleansing wipes.
I had them so bad a few years ago, I had to get a prescription. The doc gave me stuff called Proctofoam. Worked wonders.

		Get a hydrocortisone cream. You can buy 1% OTC in the US, stronger ones by prescription. Cleansing pads help too (tucks) followed by application of cream. Cream is also good for saddle sores.

Homeopathic Alternative

		If you are familiar with arnica for bruising, then the same company (here the major one is "Weleda") probably has a product called;
"Achillea Comp."
It is for haemorrhoids, varicose veins and spider veins.
You have 15 drops in water, 3 times a day
It works by improving venous circulation.
Good luck
