Review: Terry Pro Racer skort
Every year I like to treat myself to a Terry skort and this year I decided on the black racer skort with the nifty Flex chamois. I wore it today on a 32 mile ride.
This is, by far, the best chamois Terry has ever used. It flexes 4 ways, wicks, and is not too thin or too bulky. It's an Italian design and it has different levels of padding for the fore and aft part of the saddle. I did not experience any chafing and it offered just enough support for a rather firm saddle (I have a Specialized Alias).
The skirt feels like silky microfiber with a little spandex thrown in, which makes it more comfortable than last years skort. The previous skorts had microfiber skirts with no give, except for the triangle shaped spandex on the small of the back.
The inseam on the short is about 6 inches and it's a comfortable length for summer riding. The grippers did not chafe either. And you get the little trinket pocket on the right leg so you can stash a spare key, dollar bill, or Sport Beans. :)
I was a little skeptical about this skort for long rides, but I won't think twice about wearing one now. In fact, I may need to order another one--just to be sure.
Oh, I also ordered one of their buffs and I LOVE it!! It definitely helps helmet hair. It's very soft, stretchy and is made of microfiber. You get a card that demonstrates all the different ways you can wear one. It's a handy-dandy item you need in your gear bag--or jersey pocket.
