Hey ladies. I've been reading up on saddles and shorts the last few days because I'm suddenly experiencing some labial pain and discomfort that I've never had in the past. I've already started the quest for some new shorts, which already has me broke and frustrated. But that's another story.
While my shorts arguably need to be updated--my three pairs of PI Ultras have seen a lot of use--I'm wondering if it's time for a new saddle too. I have a Terry Butterfly Tri Gel on there now. I've had it for about a year and it has roughly 4500 miles on it. Give or take, that's probably about 275 hours of ride time. I've always been relatively happy with it. I mean, it's not like sitting in a Lazy Boy recliner, but for a six by 10 inch piece of leather, it works.
I've heard that cut-out saddles tend to break down more quickly. In your experience, how often do you need to replace a saddle?
