I got a pretty new bike and then came down with a horrible eye infection the next day. So I am grounded for awhile. I want to get a trainer, so that I can ride at home (and practice with my clipless pedals). There seems to be several kinds and a wide range of prices. And suggestions of what to look for or? Thanks.

I have a Trek CycleOps fluid that I got from my bike dealer. It was a gently used trainer and I got it at a great price. I really like how smooth it is and seems to offer a resistence much like the road. The only thing I don't like about it is I don't know what level of resistence I'm at. I have to manually crank the resistence too. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it. It's sturdy, locks my bike into place and doesn't wobble in the trainer.
1) magnetic trainers, ~$100, resistance not similar to that of the road
2) wind trainers, ~$100-150, super loud
3) fluid trainers, ~$200-250, super quiet and most similar to the resistance of the road
We have a Cycle Ops Wind and it's super loud, but we use it either in the garage or basement so it's fine for us.
