The handlebar conversion is complete - finally!

I've finally gotten my commuter/touring bike set up the way I want it, so I decided to take a photo. This is a 'before' photo taken by the previous owner:

I'm SO much more comfortable with the drop bars...and the stem is a quill that allows me to raise it up if I'm riding with a backpack. I put a bar end shifter for the front gears on the right bar end so that I could still use my mirror on the left.

I love my funny looking little commuter! :D

That is a beautiful set-up. The bike looks like you could really go touring with her. Congratulations!!

She came out great! Not funny looking at all. And yes, she is a bonafide touring bike. My retired classic was a great all around bike, I did everything on her. Just throw some 32c tires on her (pasela TG on back and tellus on front) and you are golden to tour. I never understood why Georgena didn't build her that way in the first place!

Regina - I noticed that about the previous owner's set up as well! It looks so weird like that...doesn't it?

Yes, she has fenders that I use for bad weather. I use race blades (big ones) because they are plastic and they flex just the right amount to accomodate the small front wheel.

I also kept the 32c TG tires that she came with to use in the winter (when it's dark and I can't see debris as well) and for touring. I love that she's steel, but not super heavy! If I could only have one bike, this one would be it.

Of course, I also own her cousin...the Terry Isis. :D
