comfort issues

I am having a hard time getting comfortable on my bike seat. i feel like I am constantly readjusting my position because my it hurts my crotch area. Help

There's a lot of different ways it can hurt. Are you getting saddle sores? Are you sitting on soft tissue rather than your sit bones?

Not everyone can ride the same saddle. We're all built differently, so our bodies need different shapes. Even if two people need the same basic shape, they don't always need the exact same saddle.

I do not have saddle sores but I guess I am sitting on soft tissue! I don't know. Thanks for your help.

Have you tried adjusting your saddle any? I actually prefer mine at very slight angle down...I mean very slight. Some prefer angle up.

I am going to try that on before my ride tmrw morning. Thanks for your help!

How about a photo of your bike with saddle? or lacking that....
What kind of bike (that's important), what kind of saddle? Is it cushiony and foam or gel filled? How much are you riding, and how long have you been riding? Where exactly is it hurting- up front on the "girly parts", or in the back on your sitbones, or in your leg creases?...

My road bike is a trek 1200 and I have been riding since the first week of May. The saddle is the one it came with a "Race lux". I did my first sprint triathlon on May 20, 2007.

I'm guessing you need to try another saddle (or 2 or 3 or more). I bought two saddles from Terry, with the plan of sending one or both back. They have a 90 day "ride it and love it" guarantee. I hear some LBS will let you try saddles as well.

The position of the saddle is another possiblity as some have said. Also, do you adjust how you sit as you ride? If I start to feel sore, sometimes I'll just stand for a few seconds, maybe use that opportunity to sprint. Or simply adjust how I'm sitting on the saddle so I'm putting pressure in a slightly different area.

You might want to go to terrybicycles.com and read about their various seats and see if there are any that seem like they might work for you. There are lots of makers, but Terry seems to be a favorite among women. I keep my search in the "performance saddles" section, which there are 5 or so to choose from. It sounds like you might want a performance saddle as well. (I have no idea what your current one is).

Also, your bike shorts could be a factor. Trying something different might help. And using a lubricant like Chamoise Buttr might certainly help if you're not already doing that.
