crank bros mallets

Does anyone know if the crank bros mallets can be used without cleats - like campus pedals (spd on one side- plain pedal on the other - for riding without cleats? I just got a new 2006 Jamis Quest WSD (totally an indulgence) and want to put pedals on it that I can use with or without cleats - I could always just use the spd/regular pedals, but the mallets come in blue - I think they would look nicer (indulgent and shallow). I use both crank bros candies and spd now - so it is simply a matter of which ones can be used without cleats. thanks.

Thanks for the link. I know that I will ride the bike more if I can ride it either with cleats or without and I am so excited about the new bike - it felt great- I get to pick itup next week.

The new bike is a 2006 Jamis Quest WSD- I know it is nothing to get all worked up about - but I really like it (I liked the color of the 2006 better than the 2007) - I pick it up on Monday. And still deciding which pedals to put on it.
