I love PA, although the only riding we have done is Jim Thorpe, but I prefer road riding.
Needless to say I am not doing the ride but by the name it sounds really nice. Can you post a link. I tried doing a search and I could not get a direct link to this MS ride. I would consider it for next year.
Thanks
JoAnn
OOOH - I loved that ride. I did it about 5 years ago when we were living in Pittsburgh. I remember that nice small hill climb at the end of day 1;) .
Good luck - I know you will have a blast.
Hi Gals!
Here's the route:

And here is more about this particular tour ("Escape to the Lake"). Let me know if you decide to do this in the future! And bikemom you are right, at the end of the first day you end on a nice climb to Allegheny College in Meadeville, PA! Puts a nice "burn" on the quads just as you are about complete the day's 83 miles (or Century option, which ever you prefer)!

I wish!
This looks like a wonderful ride. I will look forward to hearing how the ride turned out. Good luck and enjoy yourselves.
Yes, it is a ride to think about doing in the future.

I will definitely check in with y'all and let you know how it went. We've done it 2X before. In 2005 during the tour a cyclist was killed (hit by a car but it was more due to slick conditions on the wet pavement and not the fault of the motorist). His name was Francis "Drew" Andrews, and he was just 36 years old. My husband and I, along with many of the other riders, were quietly filed past the scene as Drew lay in the road and the paramedics worked on him. We found out later that evening that he did not make it. Needless to say this left all of us with heavy hearts and an emptiness inside.
The following year (last year) we didn't do the ride because we still had heavy hearts about the incident and we just didn't feel ready, if that makes any sense. This year, we feel ready to do the ride and will dedicate it not only to those with MS, but to Drew and his family as well.
Thanks for your well wishes. :)
