As Thom and I were about to leave to drive to Bishop I told him I felt like I was forgetting something. I looked around and couldn't think what it was. We left.
Fifty miles into the six hour drive, I realized I didn't pack a windbreaker. Okay, no big deal. It's supposed to be really hot in Bishop. I have a fleece jacket. I have my bolero.
As we went over Tioga Pass, we saw these really nasty clouds in the distance. No where in the forecast did it say rain. We stopped for lunch in Lee Vining and then headed south. The skies were still dark. About 50 miles north of Bishop, it begian raining. HARD! It didn't last very long, but the temperature also dropped into the low sixties.
We stopped at a sporting goods store when we got to Bishop, picked up some extra tubes, a couple of Hammer Gels and a new purple jacket. Of course now it's guaranteed not to rain. :p
