It's all coming back to me now...

yikes... showing my age there huh? :D

Saturday I did my first long ride in a year! I'm finally back on the bike and have been working on getting my fitness level back...

My brother and I signed up for the San Diego Century Bike Ride... we opted to do the 72 mile route... which ended up only at 70...but I digress...:D

It had a fair amount of climbing...I think it was somewhere around 4500-4800ft total elevation gain... not horrific and nothing steep really, just nothing flat. You were either going UP or DOWN all day. The weather was perfect... overcast and cool... route was gorgeous! I rode several places that I'd not ridden before even tho I live here... it was fun to do new local routes.

Finished with 4.5 hours ride time... and I was happy with that! I came into the home stretch feeling strong and riding at 20mph...man, I could SMELL the finish line... get me there NOW :D

anyway, it was a great confidence booster... I'm riding STP for the first time this year... I need to get those miles in to be ready so I can enjoy it! :)

it was just great to really feel like my fitness is back...:)
