Successful removal of "set" bike grease stain...

...from a bright yellow jersey!!

I just began my jersey collection this year, and have about 5 at this point... and for some reason, whenever I wear my yellow one, I inevitably get a huge bike grease stain on it... which never happens to any of the others, although they're all very light colors.

I was mindlessly throwing laundry into the machine one morning before work, and when I came home after work, I noticed my dad done me a "favor", and put all of my laundry into the dryer... on HIGH! Of course I was horrified when I pulled out my lime/yellow jersey and saw a lovely "chain tattoo" across the front.

I searched the archives here (my best source of information yet!), and read mixed reviews about just about every available product... and looked around the room to see what *I* had at my disposal.

I had green (apple - not "regular" green) Dawn dish soap (which I had originally bought for my orchids!), baby wipes... and that was about it. I squirted some of the dish soap right onto the now (very) dry jersey, and just let it sit with the dish soap on it for a solid hour (perhaps more). Then I sat down on the floor next to it, pulled out a baby wipe and SCRUBBED (so, yes, the third ingredient is ELBOW GREASE!). But, it worked absolutely perfectly... not a *trace* of bike grease remains.

I am convinced that hand dishwashing soap can get out almost anything along those lines. When all else fails for other things I've tried I always turn to some dishwashing soap and it works like a charm. Good to hear it got out your stain. I should probably tend to the one bike chain stain I've got on my carpet right now. I'll definitely be using dishwashing soap. ;)
