Cycling short with no latex

I have a friend who is allergic to latex and always has a problem with the band around the legs of cycling pants making her legs break out in hives. She has tried flipping the band "up", but still has a problem.

Does anyone have any recommendations for cycling shorts that have absolutely no latex in them?

I think more expensive shorts often use silicone instead of latex. It sticks in my mind that Terry Bellas have silicone grippers, as do Castelli's more expensive shorts (Visio and up). I'm sure there are others too...

The shorts made by Ground Effect in New Zealand don't have elastic leg bands.

I have both the Jitterbugs and the Mojos. They're well made and reasonably priced - the Jitterbugs are under $60 US. The lycra they use is very soft & stretchy. The shipping charge from NZ is remarkably reasonable as well.

A few of us here have been singing the praises of Ground Effect, do a search and you shall see. :cool:

Just bear in mind that they run a little on the large side - if you're in-between two sizes, you might consider ordering the smaller size.

oh, I forgot about shorts with NO gripper, what a good idea.

I have a pair of Descente bliss shorts (TE sells them), shorter inseam with no gripper, and they're quite comfy esp. in the heat, and -- and not too expensive either.

+ The chamois is very comfortable.

I can't stand anything tight around my legs as it drives me nuts & they work well.
