I would like suggestions on a good fitting padded knicker for tall women.I just purchased sheebest pedal pushers(knickers) and found the xlarge a little tight especially around the knee, and the length barely covered my knee. I know this was covered in a thread on tall tights, but what about longer knickers w/ good chamois pads? Thanks for any feedback.
Ibex knickers are plenty tall, and I'm a tall-ish chickie. The chamois is one of those nice sculpted "flex" ones.

But, sorry, cosc, I'll be watching this thread. I bought a pair of Pearl Izumi knickers and I haven't been happy. They barely reach below my knees. To top it off, the waist is cut so low, I feel like I need a bikini wax just to wear them.
Here's a pic of me (yellow vest) wearing my size M Ibex. I'm 5'8" with a 32 inch inseam. There is more fabric and the cuffs can be pulled down a little farther than I wear them. MimiTabby (far right, orange) is also wearing Ibex capris.

Thanks for the suggestions and I enjoyed the pics of the te gals, too. The ibex knickers looks comfy. Does the wool sting or feel itchy? I wish I had several more sw zip t's but never tried wool for britches. The exte ondo looks very techy and polished. Thorn, the shebeest pedal pushers waist was cut too low on me too. Yes, I am a little taller chick, 5'7 1/2'', but have a hard time finding bikes and pants the right size, because my inseam is 34". I'll report back when I find the perfect pair.
The wool doesn't sting or feel itchy at all. Very comfortable. I've got mine at the computer with me right now. The main body of the capris is a thick densely knit (with very small stitches) fabric. The crotch panel and butt panel and behind-the-knee panel are a thinnner silky knit. The front-of-the-knee panel is a wind resistant shell knit, with soft looped wool terry facing your skin.
This all adds up to a very comfortable knicker with thick fabric where you need it, silky fabric where you need that (no binding or chafing), and comfortable warm knees without fabric catching the knee as you pedal.
I've worn these in cold windy rain and been very comfortable. I've worn them in hot sun and they wick sweat nicely. I toss them in the wash (cold water) after every ride and hang them dry. No problems and no shrinkage, and they look new still (I've had them at least a year, probably a bit longer).
Ibex is very nice about returns. If you get the capris and aren't sure they'll work for you, send them back. You can also find them at some bike shops. (I got mine at a shop here in Seattle. It was love at first sight!)
The unstretched inseam of my size mediums is 21 inches. When I have them on the inseam is more like 22 or 23 inches with the cuffs able to go down another inch or so, but I keep them above the bulky part of my calf muscle just because I like them there.
Try Boure.com, they are handmade and quite a bit longer than most. Extremely comfortable and wear forever.
Hey Chains--I was looking at the Boure knickers the other day. They have this odd disclaimer on their site that says the knickers may be baggy in the butt when standing (because they're designed for bike position). Do you find them baggy when you stand up?
I'm actually looking for a light pair of knickers for sun protection. I bought their long-sleeved sun jersey and I love the fit and feel of the fabic. The fact that it doesn't look like an undershirt helps, too. So, I started drifting towards their lighter knickers. Then I saw that disclaimer and started to wonder...or shoud I just that knowing that after all these years I"ve developed enough of my own posterior padding that it won't be an issue?
