Yet another bike advice query

I am looking to replace my sad old 1996 Giant Acapulco hybrid with a legit starter road bike after a little over a year of regular riding (about 10-12 miles, 4 times a week plus the occasional 25 mile ride). I have been looking around the web and so far am most drawn to the Bianchi Imola (I like the steel frame and have heard great things about the Shimano 105 components). Although my LBS does not have it (they do carry the Eros and Veloce though if you have thoughts on those), I can get it elsewhere in the city... but before I trek around looking for it I thought I would see if anyone had one or had tried one out. I want to use it to train for my first century, and given the expense (fyi my price range is under $1500), want to make sure I get exactly the right fit.

If it is helpful in providing advice, I am 5'5 inches tall and 140 pounds with a 31 inch inseam and long arms.
