I have the rose mtb shoes. I like them because they fit very well. They are quite stiff, but not uncomfortable to walk in. The closing mechanism is easy to adjust as you ride to make the shoes looser or tighter.
I got mine last year when my Specialized shoes starting giving me hot foot. They made that problem go away. :)

In over 20 years of cycling, Sidis Dominators/Genius are the first shoes that fit my very high instep, narrow heel and have a wide enough toe box, plus a stiff sole and durable parts.
This is where TrekHawk comes in with some Imelda remark.
I'm going to have to try these, once I get back to riding more regularly (DON'T YOU LAUGH SADIEKATE!!) I like these:
Everything above. They are stiff, yet comfortable, and fit me like a glove. I too have narrow heels and problems with other shoes fitting. (I ride dominators).
I bought the cheapest ones - two strap velcro closure, no ratchet, etc etc. They're MTB shoes and I adore them. I've got rather large feet and the half size made for a perfect fit.
I'm not sure why they're the bomb but I love mine. I also have a narrow heel. I love the rachet system and the sole is stiff. I've had mine for over 5 years and I'm not ready to trade them in yet.
Like SadieKate, Sidi Doms are the only shoes I've ever worn that are comfortable to my high-arched foot. The stiff sole is great, and the ability to adjust the fit of the shoes as I ride is another plus - but the deciding factor for me was (is) the fit.

I got two pair of Sidis at the recent REI clearance sale (Dominators and Genius) at a fantastic price. I haven't used them yet because I am looking for new pedals and because I sprained my ankle last week. I have shimano mtn bike shoes currently. The sidis just feel so comfortable and I am hoping they take care of the hot spots my shimanos cause...
I think the ratchet is key, cuz I tried chepaer (just velcro closure sidis) and they didn't fit. Another often unknown sizing faq is that the half sizers are not longer but wider than the parent size, i.e. a 42.5 will be the same length as a 42, but wider. I also have the high arch, narrow heel, wide toe phenotype. With other brands I would be stepping out of the heel.
I have the Genius and Dominator and they are super comfy. I have a high arch and Sidi seem to work for me. Guy at the local LBS told my husband that they were the only shoes that he would wear because of the comfort and longevity of the shoe.:)
I had Shimanos. They hurt my feet. I had Specialized. They hurt my feet. I was able to get these -- in the wide size -- and they are absolutely wonderful. The price sucks, but when my feet are numb and so painful I can't ride, so they are worth it.
I'm not, I'm not! Only because I like them also and I have shoe fetish problems. The blue would be so much nice than old boring black on my mtbike. Besides, Snap, the blue is so YOU!Quote:

I was just wondering for a few reasons:
1) my feet get cramps when i have my shoes on tight but when i loosen them sp they don't cramp then they feel too loose
2) maybe sidi's will help
3) i get to buy something else cycling
4) i currently have mtb pedals. thinking i can try road pedals for spin class to see if maybe the wider platforms also help since the cramps happen on the outside edge of my feet.
fyi: i get these cramps with other sports as well, most notably skiing (cross country to down hill). i don't ski anymore tho.
